Orla O'Gorman

Orla has in-depth understanding of scaling companies, how they operate and issues they face through 25+ years’ experience of working with them from the perspectives of an executive leader, advisor, capital markets operator and non-executive director. Orla is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committees of Cairn Homes plc, Mincon Group plc, and Bon Secours Health System; she is also an INED on the Board Elite SpA, an advisor to the Board and Remuneration Committee of Cubic.   Orla brings a deep corporate strategic expertise and skillset to help companies develop their strategies, position for scale and finance their ambitions, either as a NED or an advisor, through OR Advisory. She has an entrepreneurial, can-do, solutions focused mindset, underpinned with strong inter-personal skills, business acumen and integrity. Orla is a strong advocate for funding scaling companies both in Ireland and Europe. She founded Euronext’s IPOready programme, to give companies the required skillsets for raising strategic finance. She is passionate about the role of finance as the fuel for accelerating growth in scaling companies and the importance of the right financing strategy to deliver to this. Orla was appointed to the European Commission Technical Expert Group on SMEs and was one of the authors of the report published in May 2021 – “Empowering EU Capital Markets – Making Listing Cool Again”. Orla is a member of Scale Ireland's Steering Group. Orla is a highly experienced corporate financier and advisor, with a wealth of deal strategy and execution know-how having uniquely worked on the advisory, stock exchange and corporate side of a wide variety of public and private transactions. She has been involved in a number of IPOs, fundraisings, acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, restructuring and other corporate transactions. Orla is a strong advocate of governance and all ESG matters. She is a member of member of the Euronext Irish Corporate Governance Code Advisory Committee; Chartered Accountants Ireland Ethics and Governance Committee, and Sustainability Expert Working Group. She is also a member of Chapter Zero Ireland. Orla has a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Accounting from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
