The most promising discoveries are locked behind the walls of academia due to an academia-industry know-how gap. I’ve worked in research environments both in academia and industry. My focus now is on bridging the gap that exists between them to ensure effective therapies get to patients who need them.

PhD Candidate in the Lab of Professor Daria Mochly-Rosen. Designs, characterizes, and uses small peptide inhibitors as pharmacological tools to study mitochondrial function and dynamics. Key Projects: - Lead investigator in the development of a novel peptide inhibitor to investigate mitochondrial dynamics imbalance in neurodegeneration. - Established a lead therapeutic for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease by designing activators and inhibitors of mitochondrial fusion. Was the primary Stanford researcher in this multi-institutional project. - Co-led an international effort to describe a novel mechanism for cardiac Troponin I’s (cTnI) role in ischemia-reperfusion damage.
