• Supervise day-to-day operations of the Beef Unit. • Monitor health status, feeding practices, and welfare of cattle breeds including Sokoto Gudali, Muturu, and White Fulani. • Conduct routine inspection of cattle barns and facilities to ensure compliance with safety and biosecurity standards. • Coordinate farm staff and support academic teaching and research activities within the unit. • Maintain operational and production records for effective management and reporting.

• Feed Formulation: Designing balanced, cost-effective rations tailored to the specific needs of dairy cattle, (330 Holstein Friesian cattle) considering factors like lactation stage, health status, and productivity goals. • Nutritional Analysis: Evaluating the nutritional content of feed ingredients and forages to ensure diets meet the required energy, protein, vitamin, and mineral levels. • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assessing herd health and milk production to identify and address any nutritional deficiencies or imbalances. • Collaboration: Working closely with veterinarians, farm managers, and feed suppliers to develop and implement nutrition strategies that enhance animal welfare and farm profitability. • Research and Development: Staying updated with the latest advancements in dairy nutrition and incorporating evidence-based practices into feeding programs • Training and Education: Providing guidance and training to farm staff on best practices in dairy nutrition and feeding management. • Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of feed formulations, animal performance, and health outcomes to inform management decisions and continuous improvement efforts.

• Animal Care: Assisting in feeding, milking, and monitoring the health of dairy cows to ensure optimal milk production.  • Facility Maintenance: Cleaning barns, maintaining milking equipment, and ensuring a hygienic environment for the livestock.  • Record Keeping: Documenting animal health, milk yields, and feed inventories to support farm management decisions. • Health Monitoring: Observing cows for signs of illness or injury and assisting with veterinary care as needed.  • Team Collaboration: Working with farm staff to ensure efficient operations and high standards of animal welfare.

• Design and implement lesson plans that cover topics such as crop production, soil science, animal husbandry, and agricultural technology. • Creates a positive and supportive learning environment where all students are encouraged to actively participate in the learning process. • Overseeing any agricultural labs or greenhouses, ensuring proper maintenance and safety protocols. • Develop and deliver comprehensive agricultural education programs, including lesson plans, practical demonstrations, and classroom instruction. • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school farm, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, and caring for livestock. • Supervise and guide students during farm-related activities and projects, providing instruction and support as needed. • Provides educational and social guidance to students and/or signposting them to specialist areas of advice when needed. • Ensure that students adhere to safety protocols and practices during farm work and other agricultural activities.
