Work within a clinic environment performing a vast range of assessments for children 0-18 years, with developmental, learning, social/ behavioural difficulties. I am fully accountable for assessment planning, implementation and report writing relevant to all children. I analyse all observations and assessments through self-reflection, team discussions and feedback. I demonstrate awareness of/ experience with clinical frames of reference and current practice approaches. Work collaboratively whilst ensuring family centered and culturally safe practice to ensure that service delivery meets the needs of children and families from a variety of cultural and social backgrounds. Exhibit skills in interacting with children and parents in a therapeutic and enabling manner.

* Caseload: Community adults - Chronic disease management. * Community paediatrics – Clinic and school environment (as above) * Paediatric involvement as above * Adult involvement: conducted home assessments and provided education to ensure safety and independence for each client * Linked clients with community services, falls prevention rehabilitation programs, oedema management, home modifications and equipment prescription * Liaison with external services for funding and provision of equipment * Co-facilitated and participated in ‘Work it Out Program;’ including providing adult exercise and education focusing on self-management strategies

* Caseload: Adolescents and adults with acquired and traumatic brain injuries including, CVA, aneurysms, abscesses, brain tumors * Confidently developed and co-facilitated student led group program for inpatients * Groups run included: cognitive and memory groups, community access groups, upper limb groups, meal preparation groups and falls prevention * Constant collaboration and liaison with interdisciplinary/ multidisciplinary teams * Adherence to hospital workplace health and safety procedures, privacy and confidentiality * Assessments completed: PTA assessment, RBMT-3 and informal assessment of patients in groups * Assessments observed: initial assessments, Cognistat, Valpar 6 and Valpar 7, upper limb assessments including jamar pinch and 9 hole peg test * Areas shadowed within hospital: cancer care unit, lymphoedoema and splinting

IUIH provides support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service development and coordination of health service delivery in the SEQ Region. IUIH aims to support the effective implementation of the Council of Australian Government's (COAG) ‘Close the Gap' initiatives and funding in the South East Queensland Region and has a major emphasis on promoting partnerships and integration with other mainstream health services

Since embarking on my university studies, I have developed extensive occupational therapy skills as well as clinical area knowledge. These skills have enabled me to rapidly acquire vital information and develop a sound understanding of the role of an occupational therapist in allied health. Furthermore, I have learnt to model the typical values occupational therapy upholds; respect and integrity, professionalism, innovation, active participation within a multidisciplinary team.
