About
Olivia Barrett is an Ottawa-based journalist. She is currently a reporter with Inside Ottawa Valley, with a focus on Renfrew and Perth. Olivia has worked with Black Ottawa Scene as an editorial associate, a staff reporter with The Globe and Mail's Ottawa Bureau and a reporter with Carleton University's radio show Midweek. She has also worked as a research assistant to examine how news organizations in Canada are using TikTok. Throughout her time as a journalism student at Carleton University, Olivia has covered arts and culture events extensively and written about science and technology developments, such as micro flyers.
