On paper, I’m a Production Director | Executive Producer; in practice, I spend most of my time calmly herding creatives, technicians, clients and deadlines in roughly the same direction. Over the last couple of decades, that has meant getting award shows on air, putting brands on stage, nudging exhibitions from sketchbook to gallery floor, and helping large‑scale projects make the jump from “this could be brilliant” to lights‑up on opening night. Big, ambitious ideas are my favourite, provided I’m allowed to ask awkward questions about rigging, camera positions and where the money is actually going. I’ve looked after everything from small, detail‑heavy installations to stadium shows and multi‑country roadshows, with budgets in the millions and crews running into the hundreds. Along the way, I’ve picked up three useful languages: creative, finance and front‑of‑house/control room—and spend a lot of time translating between them so everyone ends up with the same show in their heads. The way of working is simple: stay calm, be clear, protect the work, protect the people, and keep just enough humour in the mix that everyone still wants to get together after the debrief.
