Newton Venture Program's mission is to level the playing field for people from typically overlooked backgrounds - ensuring that the next generation of venture investors represent the world we live in. Newton is a joint venture between London Business School and Phoenix Court. The Fundamentals program covers key areas such as the VC ecosystem, dealflow, valuations, chemistry and conviction, negotiations, legals, follow up financing, scaling up, and the future of VC.

Strategic planning and business development – transition into MiFID2/MiFIR world, adaptation of operations to post-Brexit environment, introduction of new investment services to clients in line with all applicable laws and regulations Corporate governance matters – as part of Board of Directors - seeing big picture of market developments and driving necessary change, based on data-supported decision making, for improvement of Company’s position and operations, adaptation to and compliance with constantly evolving regulatory requirements. Management and review of large projects in complex operational environments – set up of new business ventures (marginal lending, HFT trading, underwriting), digitalization of existing client services and business processes (remote KYC/account opening, brokerage/custody services provision,client servicing platform), partnership with external service providers (banks, prime brokers, custodians,exchanges, clearing houses, reporting service providers and arrangements, MTFs, data centers) Overall operational control of the company – product governance management and control, client servicing monitoring, development/review and implementation of internal policies, processes and procedures in line with existing regulatory framework, set up of necessary arrangements (exchange trading, MiFIR/EMIR/other reporting, MAR monitoring and prevention, prevention of conflicts of interest) Risk Management framework development and support – implementation of overall riskbased decision making, management of internal capital adequacy and risk assessment process in line with EU-wide IFD/IFR and CY laws and regulation

Risk-based supervision of EU regulated Investment Firm Development and implementation of risk management framework MiFIDII/MiFIR, CRD/CRR, EMIR, MAR, FATCA/CRS requirements control Equity/FI/Forex/Derivatives/OTC trade desk support on daily basis Internal capital adequacy assessment and supervision Management of "new projects workgroup" – delivery of new business projects/ trading arrangements/activities together with required reporting Margin trading development for desk trading activities

Management of clients’ portfolios - orders execution (equity, derivatives – futures, options), trade allocation, reconciliation Interactions with clients throughout all phases of the relationship cycle - acquisition, investment, retention) Implementation of new market strategies for local market for company’s clients(hedging, arbitrage) Coordination and development of company’s new projects – marginal equity trading for retail division, derivatives market/futures market for clients Educational projects for clients (derivatives market, trading strategies and risk management for derivatives market, hedging, arbitrage)
