I have gained valuable experience during my tenure in the Managed Services department SOC at Dimension Data. In this role, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients who had intricate IT setups and different combinations of appliances and security controls. I was part of a highly proficient team of cybersecurity experts, working round the clock in 24x7 shifts, including weekends and holidays. In this role, I successfully fulfilled various responsibilities, including but not limited to: • Continues Monitoring: I conducted ongoing surveillance, investigation, and reporting of security incidents using different SIEM tools like IBM QRadar and LogRhythm. I collaborated with clients to address and resolve any identified threats and vulnerabilities. • Threat Hunting: I used Sigma rules to detect emerging threats, which were then incorporated into the SIEM system. Additionally, I employed the StrikeReady platform to search for Indicators of compromise (IOC) in network and endpoints using solutions such as FireEye HX, CrowdStrike, and Fidelis. • Reports: As part of my responsibilities, I prepared shift, daily, and weekly reports for clients, ensuring effective communication and transparency. • Staying Informed: To stay ahead of evolving threats, I continuously researched and remained updated on new vulnerabilities and potential risks that could impact the systems under surveillance. I shared my knowledge with teammates to enhance our collective security preparedness.
