I developed a method for analyzing phenol in solid resin using GC as well as I identified problems with Karl-Fischer measurement that the company could not solve for a year and a half. Currently I am working on the development of new methods and higher quality grinding wheel products with the research team.

I identified different types of fatty acids in biological samples to study the effect of fish feed composition on the vitality of the fish and fish larvae development. Within the first month of hire, I developed a process that reduced the total preparation and GC analysis of feed, eggs and fish organ samples from 48 to 24 hours. An overnight heating process for esterification was reduced to a 15 minute reaction requiring a fourth of the organic solvent.

I studied the hydrogenation of organic molecules and the effect of varying pressure and catalyst on reaction effectivity and time. I also synthesized organic molecules with aromatic structures using microwave assistance and analyzed the structures with GC-MS, HPLC-MS as well as 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
