Norm brings over 30 years of executive finance leadership across public companies, private equity-backed businesses, venture-funded startups, and global enterprises. His career has been dedicated to building sustainable, high-value organizations, from pre-revenue startups through IPO by partnering with founders, boards, and institutional investors to drive meaningful impact. Currently serving as Interim CFO at Craif USA Inc., a Series C-funded biotech company developing AI-powered early cancer detection diagnostics, Norm is building financial infrastructure to support rapid U.S. expansion. He partners with the Japan-based parent company and CEO on strategic planning, investor relations, and cross-border operations—leveraging his Japanese fluency and deep international business experience. Throughout his career, Norm has been a trusted financial partner to VC and PE firms, working with management teams to execute growth strategies, optimize capital structures, and prepare companies for successful exits. His transaction experience includes acquisitions from $20M to $1.5B and carve-outs from $200M to $11B at VeriSign and Symantec. As an expat in Berlin, he led finance for a U.S. subsidiary through a successful sale to a Twentieth Century Fox subsidiary. At HighIQ.ai, he drives Agentic AI-powered solutions enabling digital transformation for the Front Office as well as the Office-of-the-CFO. His background spans hardware, SaaS, life sciences, and technology, scaling global teams of up to 200 across the U.S., India, Singapore, and the Philippines. Expertise extends beyond finance into operational transformation, GTM and engineering alignment, enterprise system implementations, and global shared services. Leadership spans M&A integration, revenue recognition (ASC 606), joint ventures, corporate structuring, SEC reporting, addressing material weaknesses and Corporate Planning functions. Earlier, Norm held VP-Finance roles at VeriSign, leadership positions at Symantec, Head of Finance roles at NEC and Gymboree, and led IPO engagements at PwC in Los Angeles and San Jose.
