Conducts investigations in areas identified as systemic improvement opportunities. Rather than the usual reactive focus on resolving complaints from the public about government administrative conduct and access to official information - the work of the team is proactive. - Identify, resolve and investigate significant and systemic concerns with public sector administration and decision making. - Scope, plan and preparing reports. The investigations contribute to the Ombudsman's independent oversight of government. It can assist agencies to identify and correct administrative deficiencies and promote greater accountability for the decisions that are made. Improved administration and decision making in public sector agencies will result in better outcome for the public.

Worked on instruction from the Medical Protection Society, an international indemnity organisation that indemnifies the majority of medical practitioners in New Zealand. - Regularly advising and assisting health practitioners on a wide range of matters arising from their clinical roles, including complaints, regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings. - Managed health practitioners through complaint processes, adverse events investigations, court proceedings and investigations by regulatory authorities (including the Health and Disability Commissioner, Professional Conduct Committees, the Medical Council, ACC, employers, District Health Boards, Colleges) - Represented and assisted health practitioners in the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal and Coronial Court.
