Development of an ultrasound tomograph prototype - entire process, including the construction and planning. This required the programming of algorithms for both calibration and theoretical models to detect potential errors in the calibration process, along with the programming of algorithms for imaging. • Investigation of tomographic reconstruction methods as well as the setup and experimental validation of an ultrasound tomography system. • Various reconstruction models suitable for tomographic setups (e.g. based on radon transformation, algebraic models, delay and sum-beamforming in combination with angular compositing) were investigated and evaluated in a first step using numerical phantom data. • Acquisition of experimental data to validate the results of numerical studies.
