Nick is a seasoned biotechnology executive with a rare blend of scientific expertise and business leadership. With over 15 years of experience spanning corporate strategy, business development, and translational science, Nick has built a career leading companies through high-value partnerships, strategic growth, and platform innovation. He currently serves as Chief Business Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Trace Neuroscience, a venture-backed biotech backed by Third Rock, GV, RA Capital, and Atlas. Previously, he held leadership roles at Kezar Life Sciences and Gilead Sciences, where he led business development and strategic transactions across inflammatory diseases, fibrosis and platform technology. At Ultragenyx, he drove long-range planning and commercial assessments that supported key acquisitions and partnerships in gene therapy and rare disease. Nick began his career as a clinical pharmacist and researcher, earning his Pharm.D. from Nova Southeastern University and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Southern California, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford in stem cell biology. He has co-authored several high-impact publications in Nature Methods, Nature Communications, and JAMA, and has been recognized for leadership excellence throughout his career.
