business in computers peer tutor
indiana university - kelley school of business
After taking the Business in Computers (K201) course my freshman year, I was invited to come back as a tutor. This position allows me to continue my passion for helping people; whether it is catching up someone who has fallen behind during class instruction or staying after class to help work through a difficult problem with a student, I truly enjoy volunteering my time twice a week. In addition to helping with class material, I also get the opportunity to mentor freshman that have questions related to Kelley or IU in general. - Chosen by Kelley faculty to be a tutor based on my expertise of Microsoft Access and Excel - Volunteer biweekly to assist 35 students during their lab with queries, functions, graphs, and Pivot Tables - Attend help and review sessions, to provide extra assistance and reinforce learning to students in need

schererville parks and recreation

summer camp counselor
schererville parks and recreation
Through my summer job of seasonal help in my town's Park and Recreation Department, I was challenged with a large range of tasks; I learned to enjoy the fact that no two days were the same. While I completed administration work, performed maintenance and organization tasks within our building, and worked town events, my main job was to run the summer camps and activities for the children of the community. Being able to bring happiness to the children and make their summer break more enjoyable was the most rewarding part of the summer job. - Planned, prepped, and executed up to 3 camps a day for children ranging from age 3 to 13 - Oversaw the safety and care up to 40 children at a time through certified first aid training and understanding of work protocol - Grew communication skills through customer service interactions with parents and collaboration with coworkers - Supervised Coed Softball League which had up to 6 games a week and oversaw the post season tournament which consisted of 14 teams
