Oversaw medical and technical accuracy of patient and consumer health education materials for leading patient education publishing company. Researched guideline- and evidence-based medical information for all published materials. Advised editorial department on key information to include in materials. Performed medical and technical content editing, ensuring clarity, health literacy, and art-text synergy of manuscripts. Managed and trained copyediting staff. Identified need for and created medical editor and copyeditor manuals, as well as inhouse style manual. Streamlined processes for fact-checking, setting up computer network-based system to replace outdated paper-based system.

Recommended to editorial board ways to market journal (Proceedings of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Peking Union Medical College) overseas, resulting in increased international circulation. Consulted for Institute of Microcirculation, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences— oversaw English language needs of the Institute, including translation and editing of scientific manuscripts. Helped coordinate major international conference, “The Satellite Congress of the 4th World Congress for Microcirculation” held July 1987 in Beijing.
