Nir Altman
Senior Vice President Operations @ Alpha Tau Medical
About
SVP Operations at Alpha TAU Medical with over 25 years of experience in medical device product development - from early-stage concept through R&D, engineering, and manufacturing, up to market readiness. I am passionate about innovation that is both clinically impactful and practically adoptable. At Alpha TAU Medical, I lead cross-functional teams across R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to develop intratumoral radiotherapeutic solutions for solid tumors. My focus is on delivering technologies that fit seamlessly into physicians’ workflows - ensuring high efficacy without imposing steep learning curves. Innovation should empower physicians, not complicate their practice. My leadership style is hands-on, team-oriented, and execution-driven. I manage a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including R&D engineers, production leads, and quality-focused experts, through five direct managers. I believe in mentoring and growing technical talent while fostering a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. With a background in mechanical engineering and an MBA, I bring both technical depth and operational perspective. I’ve worked with a wide range of advanced technologies - including nitinol, bio-absorbable materials, fiber optics, and electro-optical systems - and have led product development across startups, mid-size companies, and multinational environments. What drives me is the opportunity to turn ideas into real, life-changing products - and to build the high-performing teams that make it possible.
