I performed various translation-related tasks, which developed my knowledge of translation technologies, including: CAT tools, alignment tools, dictionary creators, subtitle creators, and OCR tools. I developed a basic knowledge of a variety of programmes useful in the role of a translator.

A 3-week work experience during which my tasks included translation, editing, and transcription of diverse texts from and into Italian, English, and Polish. I gained insight into the functioning of a translation agency, as well as developed my subject-specific vocabulary.

I was an office manager at a Cambridge summer school for teenagers. I acted as a point of contact for students and staff, oversaw the finance system of the school, and completed other administration tasks, as necessary.

I acted as a support worker for disabled students at London universities. This included: notetaking, acting as a sighted guide on campus and at hospital placements, as well as acting as a scribe during exams.

I worked as temporary staff (waitress, bartender) for events in London.

I worked as a bartender at a sports-orientated bar and restaurant in Central London. I prepared and served drinks, took care of the stock, and ensured an excellent customer experience.

My tasks included: sourcing and drafting the Embassy’s daily press summary, translating or arranging the translation of press articles from Polish to English, supporting the evaluation of the Embassy’s Strategic Communications campaigns, managing the Embassy’s core script, supporting the delivery of communications around high-level visits and events, providing general administrative support to the Communications Team as required.
