* Initially joined as a barback in a team of 20 people. Showed initiative and consistency. Quickly progressed and was given more responsibility and charge over the back of house. Later moved on the bar as a cocktail bartender. Was not provided any training and learned everything on the go while improvising. While at Walrus I: * Provided excellent customer service all-round the venue and not just on the bar. * Supervised the smooth running of bars. * Maintained strict financial and stock control. * Ensured high standards of health and safety. * Trained new staff and monitored their performance during induction period. * Successfully dealt with complaints and incidents in a professional manner.

* Every September, the university hosts a variety of events to welcome students. I joined a large team of over 50 people. We received extensive training teaching us how to act in different situations and how to help and assist people from different cultures and backgrounds. Each day was different and presented new challenges. As a student host I: * Was in charge of events, took part in events and promoted events. * Spoke in front of large groups of people. * Organised group tours around the campus. * Supported new and existing students.

* Joined a large team of 40 people on a temporary position over Christmas. The role offered diversity as there are different types of shifts and each day you’re assigned a different one. As part of the training, I went through all of them and showed great competence. As a person with excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality, I naturally excelled on the tills. While at HomeSense I: * Served customers in a polite and friendly manner and received positive feedback * Maintained excellent customer service regardless of the busy period * Maintained work efficiency unsupervised * Was fully flexible and communicated with co-workers and team leaders to best comply with customers and team’s demands. * Set a team record for fundraising for The Prince’s Trust.
