I lead the LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions approach to workflow software with responsibility for setting and delivering our market-leading technology portfolio into a new and exciting era. The launch of Lexis® Omni complements the established and proven Lexis® Visualfiles to keep Enterprise Solutions as the UK’s premier legal workflow platform provider with unique levels of flexibility and proven performance. My role is a combination of technologist, evangelist, facilitator, listener and decision maker.

Exciting hybrid role that combines the provision of business analysis, consulting and strategic planning activities into UK legal sector (top 250 law firms). Leading a variety of pre-sales and post-sales client -focused engagements including: - strategy development - business analysis and business case development - user group management - best practice thought leadership - business and system reviews - stakeholder management

A unique role within Practice & Productivity Management where I am responsible for working with clients to understand their business and technical challenges. I rely on close working relationships within PPM to ensure we can help these clients tackle their challenges and make optimum use of technology and best practice. My role also allows me to help influence future direction with products and services. Development of new products and services is a key responsibility. Understanding clients' pain points helps to clarify where opportunities lie, and an innovative approach to solving these problems drives the introduction of new revenue streams. It's all about understanding the client, the technologies and the market!

Poacher turned gamekeeper at the end of 2003 when Solicitec (as was) invited me to join them as a project manager. In addition to “regular” project management engagements, I enjoyed varied opportunities to work closely with the client base, putting my earlier experience to good use. With the success of the Visualfiles technology, Solicitec rebranded as Visualfiles, which was then acquired by LexisNexis in 2006. My role officially changed in June 2008, following the further acquisition of Axxia, with a move away from full-time project management to begin considering consulting opportunities.

Responsibility for IT leadership at leading regional UK law firm. Development and delivery of information strategy to support business operations. Close working with partners and business units to develop and implement appropriate strategy. Close relationship with legal software suppliers including Elite and Visualfiles. Lee Crowder was the first live UK site to implement Visualfiles. I was also one of the founder members of LITIG (the Legal IT Innovators Group) a not for profit organisation for senior IT representatives of UK legal IT and the Visualfiles/SolCase national user group chairman.

First full-time IT member of staff - responsible for implementing complete new technology infrastructure into mid-sized law firm in Bristol. Greenfield site. Legal systems implemented included MS-infrastructure (including structural build of server room), PC Docs document management, Axxia PMS and case management. Fun and challenging engagement. Built IT function from scratch, provided helpdesk, training and development functions.

During a Short Service Commission in the RAF I enjoyed varied roles with postings in the UK and overseas. Roles were mainly finance and IT focused, and included working with Army personnel as well as US and Canadian forces. Enjoyed playing sport during my time, representing the RAF at hockey in many competitions here and abroad.
