VFX Financial has been established for more than 20 years and transacted over £20bn in currency in that time. An early mover in the online payments space, having built some great technology (for the time) and expanded across multiple product lines, the company nevertheless languished in mediocrity for a number of years. In 2022, it was acquired by a young (ish) entrepreneurial team that had previously been part of the senior leadership of another financial services firm they’d helped grow from £1m annual revenues, through an IPO and onwards to a £700m market cap within 8 years.
