My role in the BioManufacturing Unit involved regular work in a laminar flow unit following aseptic techniques and good GMP practices. I was also responsible for the safe use of freeze driers, autoclaves, and filtration equipment. Some of my extra responsibilities were for the formulation and manufacture of specialized products, involving self management and responsibility for the team members I train in this. Use of the lab, pipettes, environmental plates and various other equipment was also part of my duties. On a regular basis I was also required to travel to Australia with a team of five to carry out cleanroom duties.
