I write any news or feature stories that the editors give me, easily making deadline.

I wrote news and feature articles, with briefs on the side, writing in Quark CopyDesk and working in Saxopress. I also worked with obituaries, helping lessen the load in the morning by writing obits, skimming through those that were sent in to make sure they complied with AP style and uploading the information, icons and pictures into Saxopress.

I transcribe shows, time roll-up captions, and time and place pop-on captions. This all includes editing the transcripts as I use them and incorporating proper rules of grammar in my own transcriptions.

I write monthly book reviews and blog entries for the online journal, Coal Hill Review. The reviews center on literary fantasy and contemporary fiction.

Data entry, processing orders and returns, accounting, customer service, administrative work, helping with contest judging, and book reviews.

Through the R. J. DePaul consulting agency, I work at PNC and edit its policies and procedures for Identity and Access Management (information security). Although I don't work for PNC, I am considered a full-time employee with DePaul.

Information acquisitions and proofreading

I managed accounts of clients who use Community Elf to provide an online social media presence. It combines social media with PR work.

The National Parent Teacher Association holds an annual Reflections contest, which is a cornerstone arts program. From its website: "The Reflections Program has inspired millions of students to reflect on a specific theme and create original artwork. Each year, students in Grades Pre-K through 12 are recognized for bringing the theme to life through dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts." I am judging literature submissions from grades 6-8 for the national level of the contest. My top picks are sent to a final judge for the national winners.

This is an ongoing volunteer position for the San Francisco-based print literary magazine, Weave. I write, coordinate, assign, edit, and post book reviews on Weave's website. As an editorial assistant, I read and commented on submissions for acceptance or rejection, assisted with proofreading and copyediting, and any other duties that could be performed remotely. http://www.weavemagazine.net/

I help to sell all legally printed and recorded materials in a book store.
