As a scientist, I am interested in understanding how coagulation, inflammation and immunity crosstalk at the molecular level. Unraveling the fundamental mechanisms of thrombosis and immunothrombosis will promote the discovery of new strategies to help fighting cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases. My skill set extends beyond my science. I am also part of a team responsible for managing large-scale GLP production of a new anticoagulant protein therapeutic for efficacy, stability, formulation and toxicology studies in animal models. In addition, I have gained experience with legal aspects of science since I am the co-author and inventor of several patents. Recently, I co-founded Hemadvance LLC, a platform technology venture developing next generation bio-therapeutic molecules to diagnose, manage and treat the onset and progression of coagulation disorders via activation of Protein C, the one and only natural anticoagulant enzyme in blood.

I became expert in protein chemistry and developed new methods to detect chemical modifications, such as oxidation and nitrosylation, in plasma proteins using LC-MS and LC-MS/MS systems. I successfully developed and applied new biophysical techniques to study protein-protein interactions and small molecule-protein interactions.
