Training contract. Major audit clients included ArcellorMittal (Vanderbijlpark Flat Steel Works), DCD Dorbyl (Heavy Engineering), Siemens Telecommunications and MiTek. Planned audit field work, identified audit risks, executed field work including computer assisted audit techniques. Pioneered the use of work by an expert (capital gains tax valuation) to assist with obtaining fixed asset audit evidence at ArcelorMittal. Assisted the South African Tinplate council to resolve a long standing VAT dispute with SARS.
