Nick Zgradic
Lighting & System Integration Solutions Expert, Founder @ The Lighting Architectural Firm (The L | A Firm)
About
Since 1998, I’ve been providing specialty lighting and media systems for people who do exceptional work—designers, architects, producers, technicians, contractors, and the occasional wild-card genius who needs something that doesn’t exist… yet. As Founder of The LA Firm (short for The Lighting | Architectural Firm), I bridge creative vision and industrial practicality through tailored lighting, camera, and broadcast system solutions. My work spans film and television, architectural design, livestream commerce, theme parks, stadiums, private R&D, and even military-grade hardware integration. If it needs to shine, function, or impress, I’ll help you make it happen. But here’s the truth: people don’t hire products—they hire people. And I’ve built a career around being the kind of partner clients actually want to work with: clear-headed, creative, technically competent, and not afraid to crack a well-timed joke. Whether we’re discussing fiber runs or fixture specs, my focus is on solving problems collaboratively and delivering value in a way that’s both strategic and human. Along the way, I’ve gathered hands-on experience in: Systems design & integration Studio & commercial lighting Import/export logistics Sales, sourcing & client acquisition Business formation, financing, and survival (the fun part) Manufacturing oversight Media production & podcast development Industry-specific digital marketing & eCommerce strategy I’m also the creator and host of The Light Diversions Show—a media project where I get to explore society’s quirks, celebrate great ideas, and keep things just weird enough to be honest. This mix of experience across art, tech, and business has given me a rare perspective: I understand the creative process, the sales process, and the technical specs—and I know how to laugh while getting the job done. So whether you’re looking for support on a complex lighting system, launching a media initiative, or building something unique that demands a custom approach, let’s talk. Let’s illuminate something together. – Nick

Content Creator
Los Angeles, California, United States
Creator and host of The Light Diversions Show — a satirical, quick-witted break from the grind, offering social commentary, studio confessions, and light therapy in more ways than one. The show blends comedy, conversation, and cultural observations from the perspective of two working-class thinkers with studio lighting backgrounds and way too many opinions. It’s a media project built to entertain, engage, and occasionally enlighten — or at least make you feel seen when you’re yelling in traffic. 🎙 Available on YouTube, Rumble, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn 🔍 @lightdiversions on all platforms Content Themes Include: • Relatable everyday frustrations (with a punchline) • Satirical social critique through a working-class lens • Authentic commentary on business, creative life, and personal growth • Studio lighting and tech insights delivered with humor, not jargon Core Contributions: • Developed show branding, episode structure, and content strategy • Manage full-cycle production including writing, recording, editing, and promotion • Created character voices and personas that reflect industry realities and cultural shifts • Built cross-platform presence to support both entertainment and LA Firm visibility We may be in the lighting business, but that’s not the point. This is the outlet where the gear talk ends and the real talk begins — because some things in life just need to be aired out... preferably under soft key lighting.

Sales Operations Manager
K5600 Lighting, Inc
North Hollywood, CA
I joined K5600 Lighting in its early years and had the rare opportunity to contribute across nearly every function as the company grew into a respected name in specialty studio lighting. What started as hands-on work — assembling and repairing fixtures, handling inventory, and packing outbound shipments — evolved into customer service, operations management, sales strategy, and market development. I learned the lighting business from the inside out, often switching roles mid-day to keep things moving. This was more than a job. It was an apprenticeship in resourcefulness, trust, and resilience — the kind of environment where you had to figure it out, because the survival of the business depended on it. Key Contributions: • Supported company growth during its emergence as a high-visibility studio lighting brand • Managed daily operations across manufacturing, logistics, and customer support • Led client-facing sales and B2B account development efforts across domestic and international markets • Coordinated with film and broadcast industry professionals to align product specs with on-set realities • Helped shape internal workflows that supported production, scaling, and field servicing The lessons I took from K5600 shaped every venture I’ve pursued since. It was the first time I saw what it takes to build something meaningful from the ground up — and the value of staying agile in an industry that never stops moving.
