Lead an organization of ~140 Duke employees and multiple external engineering firms that supports engineering for the Duke Energy Transmission system in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Director of four managers that each lead engineering teams (~45 engineers in my organization) that support the implementation of key functions for the electric distribution system in the areas of Capacity Planning, Large Reliability Projects, Grid Improvements, Power Quality, and Maintenance Programs.

Managed 11 Duke employees and multiple contractor teams (50+ employees) for the design of large electric distribution projects/programs. Provide the design teams leadership for $100M/year portfolio of system capacity upgrades, reliability/integrity programs, road relocations, and joint use.

Managed 15 engineers and $130M/year budget to insure the reliability of the electric distribution system.

Managed activities of 6 project controls specialists, supporting a $300M/year electric distribution capital project portfolio.

Managed electric distribution system capital projects up to $10M in size.

Lead cross functional teams and manage projects and programs that increase the value of the group. Significant projects have included the internal separation of over $2B in generation assets from the transmission assets, and implementation of a coal cost reduction program that has reduced fuel costs by over $5M annually.

Coordinate/track/report the capital budget ($100-$150M/year) to upper management, review/approve capital work orders (scope/schedule/budget), act as an intermediary between Operations/Engineering and Fixed Asset/Tax/Finance, and consult the engineering teams on project evaluation.

Worked on the Edwardsport Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle design and construction. Coordinated the technical (mechanical/civil/electrical/I&C/process) engineers and commercial/contractual efforts between Duke and GE.

Managed capital and O&M projects ($50K-$3M each) as a mechanical engineer. My experience at Miami Fort included extensive project management, including scope development, schedule adherence, and cost controls for all types of mechanical and electrical plant equipment. For about a year while at Miami Fort I was also the Condition Based Maintenance engineer/supervisor.
