By focusing on key metrics like velocity, onboarding speed and defect reduction, ELEVATE empowers engineering leaders to scale output without micromanagement or burnout. In today’s fast-moving tech landscape, fast feature delivery is meaningless without reliable systems and high-quality code.

I lead a small, focused team modernising Alto Software’s billing platform, one of the organisation’s key FY26 strategic initiatives. This includes managing a hybrid onshore/nearshore delivery model, ensuring consistent quality, alignment, and velocity across teams. In parallel, I oversee a wider engineering group responsible for feature delivery and progressive platform modernisation. My remit spans architectural direction, delivery governance, and coordinating technology improvements with commercial and operational goals to ensure the billing platform can scale sustainably into FY26 and beyond.

Clients: Ovo Energy, Dreams, Recharge, Alto Software Group/Zoopla, M&S, Oxford Nanopore • Directed 200+ engineers across eCommerce, contact centre, and omnichannel platforms • Led full-stack modernisation using Next.js, NestJS, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native delivery • Rebuilt Recharge’s global platform, consolidating 400+ legacy systems into 30 event-driven services in 9 months, contributing to a €400M+ acquisition • Partnered with product, architecture, and commercial leadership to align technical strategy with business outcomes • Embedded Agile and DevOps practices across hybrid teams, delivering a 35% throughput uplift and 60% PR cycle-time reduction • Mentored principal engineers and engineering managers, standardising engineering quality and delivery practices • Designed and deployed AI capabilities, including RAG architectures for internal knowledge retrieval and platform intelligence

I led a small specialist team to evaluate Dreams’ £100m-per-year eCommerce product and its supporting technology organisation. This included a full assessment of the existing platform architecture, engineering practices, and team structure. Working closely with the Chief Information Officer, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of eCommerce, I developed a modernisation plan that aligned technical improvements with commercial goals. We presented a clear set of recommendations to the executive team, outlining a pragmatic pathway to a more scalable, resilient, and future-ready eCommerce platform.

I led a focused technology assessment of Ovo Energy’s internal development platform, working with a small specialist team to evaluate its architecture, developer experience, and operational maturity. We identified key bottlenecks affecting productivity and scalability, and produced a set of actionable recommendations to modernise the platform. Alongside the technical review, I advised the executive leadership team on strategic options, prioritisation, and the most effective path forward. This included defining an approach that balanced architectural improvements with pragmatic delivery and assembling a small team to begin implementing high-impact changes.

I oversaw a cross-functional team responsible for defining and delivering Oxford Nanopore’s new eCommerce capabilities. My role focused on shaping the product and engineering roadmap, aligning stakeholders across the executive leadership team, and ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery. I coordinated closely with senior commercial and technical leaders to unify strategy and execution, enabling the organisation to introduce modernised eCommerce functionality with clarity, alignment, and delivery momentum.

I led the end-to-end rebuild of Recharge’s global platform, consolidating 400+ fragmented legacy systems into 30 event-driven services in under nine months. Working across product, engineering and commercial teams, I modernised the platform architecture, accelerated delivery throughput, and enabled weekly release cycles. This transformation played a key role in Recharge’s €400M+ fintech acquisition and established a scalable foundation for future growth.
