As the Director of Food Service at the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center I am utilizing my 20 plus years of culinary and management experience to run the department and enhance the quality of life for the residents in the largest nursing facility in Nebraska. I am currently leading my team in a restructure of the food service department. With this transition we are in process of ending the old tray system and are now serving our residents and guests in their dining rooms on each station to allow for a higher quality food at the point of service. I have also recently overhauled the menu to increase the quality and presentation of the food served. As a result of these changes we have seen survey satisfaction scores continue to rise. I am looking forward to continue positive change for our residents. I also enjoy giving back to the community through the High School ProStart program as a Judge, serving as a member on the Southeast Community College Food Service and Hospitality Advisory Board and as a Chamber Ambassador for the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.

As Property Manager it was my responsibility to ensure the success and profitability of the hotel. I guaranteed this by controlling budgets, leading staff and marketing to the correct target markets to increase census of the hotel. My primary function was sales and marketing of the hotel. I maintained equal or greater census from year over year months. I assembled and completed the financial and other data for the Mid Day Report and analyzed the Profit and Loss statements to present suggestions for improvement to the owners and management company at our weekly meetings. I Recruited, interviewed, hired, trained, scheduled, supervised, disciplined, and when necessary terminated staff. I formulated orders and helped to run the front desk converting calls into sales of hotel rooms. I also inspected the cleanliness of the rooms before a new guest moved in and marketed the facility through visiting prospective clients, distribution of flyers and discount cards, attending conventions and running booths at expositions.
