Designed groundbreaking home automation system, pioneering new applications. Responsible for hardware engineering, procurement and production. Joint developments of rebranded products with Gerard Industries (Clipsal), and Honeywell. Day-to-day management of 18-strong projects team including two project managers. Recruited and rebuilt team and morale following 2-year downturn. Responsibilities included corporate and customer relations and management of engineers and admin team. Duties included engineering execution, project and contract management; customer and sales support and continual improvement. Customers included major oil and gas producers, BHP and Wes CEF.

Day-to-day management of 12 staff and managed business after sale to Mobitex in 2009, and under challenging financial conditions (due to GFC downturn). Responsibilities included company director, general & engineering management, offshore contract manufacture, and technical sales and support. Overseas travel was an integral part of my duties. Engineer manager duties (2006-8) included new product development, production contract management ant and customer support. Manufacture was in primarily offshore in Malaysia and China. Customers primarily located in North America, Europe, and China with some local in Australia.

Day-to-day management of 20 staff and responsible for Perth business unit after acquisition by the New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) in 2004. Responsibilities included distributor & customer contract negotiation and management of staff including engineering, sales, production and admin. Oversaw upgrade to IT and back office systems, and introduced ISO9001:2000 quality system following acquisition NIWA. Production manager responsibilities (2000-3) included daily management of electronic production team, new product R&D and improvement, supply chain management and customer support.
