Nick Barton Cliffe MRICS

I am the Head of UK Investment Management focusing on deal sourcing, underwriting, structuring and execution. My role also centres around client relationships, fund management, strategy formation and portfolio performance.

I was an Asset Manager at British Land, having spent time on the National Out-of-Town Retail Portfolio. Locations of exposure include Edinburgh, Liverpool, Wales and the Midlands, and the shopping centre portfolio focused on Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield. My experience extends to all areas of Asset Management including completing transactions, lease negotiations, financial appraisals, valuation, development, investment and key stakeholder engagement. I also focused on production of asset and portfolio level business plans; external reporting to Joint Venture partners and fund managers; and identifying opportunities across the portfolio for conversion to alternative uses.

I was part of the 2017 British Land Graduate Scheme and undertook roles within Retail Analysis, Office Property Management and Office Leasing. This provided me with a practical grounding in valuation, investment and fund management, property and asset management functions and commercial leasing.

Role involved the creation of business plans, building cash flow models, undertaking in-depth research into global real estate investment opportunities and the PropTech sector, property inspections and on-site logistical aid.

Undertook an Valuation Analyst role with DTZ Valuation France based in Paris. This primarily involved writing valuation reports, completing valuation calculations, leading market research in national and global property markets, on-site inspections and translation tasks. Other duties included press analysis, database control and document editing. The combination of these subjects allowed me to gain valuable, transferable professional skills including research capacity, DCF modelling and Capitalisation analyses, translation approaches and database management.

Includes a year abroad in 2015 spent working in Paris and Augsburg.
