In a newly created role on the Plant Leadership Team, managed and dealt with customer complaints (both internal and external) related to quality issues on treated paper and decorative laminates and assisted the Engineering Manager with process improvement initiatives. Also ran trials and tests for quality assurance and process improvement purposes, as well as help bring new products to market.

Responsible for operational effectiveness and continuous improvement of the Paper Treater at the Ballarat plant through systems and procedures development, engineering improvements, problem solving and trouble shooting. Worked closely with the Manufacturing Manager, Process Engineering Lead, Technical and Décor Paper Manager, Reliability Leader and Operations Support Leader to ensure the Paper Treater delivers its production and quality targets.

Delivered chemical safety-related regulatory services to clients, such as regulatory compliant documentation — namely safety data sheets, labels and product registrations — as well as regulatory compliant advice and consultancy services, including audits and risk assessments. Helped research and prepare documentation, standard operating procedures, rule sets and training modules to ensure that all parties involved have complete knowledge of the services provided by the company as well as current chemical safety regulations.

Worked closely with the CEO and the digital marketing and sales teams to develop strategies for growing and promoting the Troober app in Australia. Initiated client onboarding strategies by prospecting and contacting business owners and trade professionals to get them to join the platform. Also responsible for managing and developing relationships with new and existing clients.

Helped supervise foundation work for a multi-storey car park at University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS). Responsibilities include making sure that the piles were driven at the correct spots according to the foundation plan, monitoring welding work and making sure that the piles have set at the end of the piling process.

Participated in a research project which studied the potential of using bentonite plugs for plugging coal seam gas wells. Responsibilities include conducting literature research on the advantages of using bentonite plugs over concrete plugs, manufacturing bentonite plugs for testing purposes and fitting data to theoretical equations.

Nominated for the Sustainability Innovation Student Challenge Award (SISCA) finals, organised by the UQ Dow Centre for Sustainable Engineering Innovation. Received the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence in 2018.

Received the Malaysian Public Services Department (JPA) Scholarship to pursue tertiary education overseas.
