I covered the duties of regular classroom teachers, working with students in grades K-12. I worked to implement lesson plans, provide classroom management, and ensure that students had a safe and productive day of learning.

I work with clients across the state teaching a wide range of blindness skills including cane travel, braille, home management, and life skills.

* My VISTA project centered on research and data collection. I completed required Success * Measures evaluations and reported on the data which I collected. Success Measures is an * outcome evaluation resource managed by Neighborworks® America. * Professional Development Activities: Training on the Success Measures Data System; * Training on evaluation work and general data analysis; First Aid and CPR Certification, * Grant writing workshop hosted by Public Allies.

* Art for El Salvador is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to using art as a means through which to support and uplift impoverished communities in rural El Salvador. * Founder and Vice President * Lead fundraising activities including benefit concerts; regular speaking presentations; participation in local art markets. * Present to youth and adults on issues of poverty, education, and global citizenship. * Create and maintain relationships with partner communities in El Salvador. * Currently working to fund the Sarah's School project- a 7-9th grade building to be constructed in Caserio Mediagua in memory of Sarah Howard.

Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God's love into action by building homes, communities, and hope. Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
