Minh Dang
EPX Application Engineer/ Edge Preparation & Surface Finishing Specialist @ ANCA CNC Machines
About
Dr.-Ing. Minh Nhat Dang (CMatP, EngP) is a multidisciplinary engineer specialising in edge preparation and surface finishing for high-precision components. At ANCA, he leads RnD applications on the EPX-SF stream finishing technology, advancing nano-smooth polishing and micron-level edge control for cutting tools, medical implants, and aerospace parts. With 10 years of cross-disciplinary experience spanning nanochemistry, surface engineering, and advanced manufacturing, Minh's expertise lies in mechanical and plasma-based polishing, with a focus on practical deployment at industrial scale and achieving consistent, production-ready outcomes. He concluded his full PhD scholarship through a joint ARC Centre in Surface Engineering for Advanced Materials project with Sutton Tools, where he studied and developed multiple methodologies for surface treatment of tungsten carbide and high-speed steel intricate tools with various nitride-based coatings. Prior to that, he led national research projects in Vietnam as Principal Investigator and Lab Manager, focusing on nanocarbon materials for energy storage and environmental remediation. Minh has authored 20+ scientific publications, presented at 20+ international conferences, traveled to 25+ countries (mostly Europe and America), and received awards including Swinburne’s Postgraduate of the Year, APICAM’s 2nd Best Presentation Award and recently named as one of Rising Stars (Under 35) for Australian Manufacturing Awards. Beyond engineering, he advises Posthuman Lab — a Hong Kong-based 3D-printed jewellery startup featured in Vogue — and is recognised for bridging deep technical insight with creative design and global engagement.
