I am a PhD student at University Lyon 1. I do my PhD at institut de recherche sur la catalyse et l'environnement de Lyon. My subject is "Catalytic production and esterification of lactic acid from biomass". My objectives are synthesis of catalysts for hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass to lactic acid and esterification of lactic acid to ethyl lactate. Lactic acid has a wide application in food additive, pharmacy technology, and intermediate chemical to produce propylene glycol, glycerin,.. Ethyl lactate can be used as biosolvents to altenative for fossil solvents, which are toxic and very difficult decomposition in environment.
