Ng Ping Shean

I work as a part-time CMM Programmer at TSH Manufacturing Solutions Sdn. Bhd., where I develop and execute inspection programs using PC-DMIS based on engineering drawings and GD&T. I perform precise dimensional measurements to ensure parts meet required tolerances, while aligning CAD models and datums for accurate inspection. I also support quality control processes by analyzing measurement results and collaborating with engineers and machinists to resolve dimensional issues and improve inspection efficiency.

- Conducted R&D of swerve drive system and encoder module (Version 1 & Version 2) - Responsible for development of: pneumatic cylinders, carbon fiber components & timing belt mechanisms - Mentored junior members on component selection, fabrication methods, and real robot application for assigned development parts - Guided and supervised junior members throughout the robot building and development process

- Led the design of one of the competition robots (Robot2) - Developed a total of 2 robot versions along with several prototypes (defending robot & 3-point shooting robot) before finalizing for competition within one year - Assisted in integrating Robot1 mechanical system and assembling functional parts - Secured 1st place and Best Engineering Award at Robocon Malaysia 2025 - Won Tokyo Electron Award at ABU Robocon 2025

- Performed regular inspection, servicing & repair of workshop tools and equipment - Managed inventory of components, tools & spare parts - Developed and implemented lab cleaning schedule - Conducted maintenance training and guidance for team members on proper tool care and upkeep - Organised cargo & robot shipping preparation for Robocon Malaysia 2025 and ABU Robocon 2025 - Ensured all equipment were competition-ready within required timelines

- Developed proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design and 3D modelling - Gained practical experience in pneumatic systems, timing belt mechanisms, and carbon fiber applications - Supported senior members in developing functional components, assemblies, and troubleshooting mechanical issues - Contributed to robot mechanical system design and collaborated closely with electronics and programming teams for system integration - Assisted in maintenance of tools and fabrication equipment to ensure smooth workshop operations - Represented Malaysia in ABU Robocon 2024, Vietnam, as part of the robotics competition team

Collaborated with students from Tianjin University (TJU) to design, build, and demonstrate a line-following robot, despite their limited prior experience in robotics.
