Head of Procurement - Productive, Non Productuve, Capex and Logistics

Reports to the Controllership Director • Responsible for consolidating, validating and controlling financial results for the entire Procurement area in South America (11 plants, USD 580 million): direct, non-productive purchases, logistics and stock. • Stock inventory and policy control aligned with Manufacturing and Procurement. • Make-or-Buy study assessment and new supplier development. • Control of PTA (Premium Transportation Authorization). • Compliance Team member, monitoring and investigating company policy deviations. • Result elaboration and Board presentation.

• HR Head at the São Bernardo do Campo Plant (350 employees), responsible for restructuring the Lavras Plant (1,600 employees), developing strong leadership at the plants. • Spearheading Lear Culture deployment, attaining the GPTW certificate.

Reported to the Procurement Director (Brazil) and the Global Non-Productive Procurement VP (USA) • Management of Non-Productive Item Procurement at 11 South American plants (indirect materials and services – USD 80 million), with a team of 15 employees. • Area restructuring, centralizing control and standardizing commodities, unifying strategies and contract volume; average annual gain of USD 2 million. • Responsible for the CAPEX purchasing team (machinery, equipment, construction, reform etc.): implementation of 2 new plants – local/warehouse securing, contracting reform/adjustment and all inherent services – Green Field and Brown Field. • Participation on the committee for carbon-emission reduction: contracting 100% renewable power, elaborating projects with suppliers to reduce carbon emissions. • Deployment of software to control and monitor supplier financial health.

Reported to Senior Electric Procurement Manager (Brazil), Global Electrics Procurement Director (USA) • South American Electric Procurement Leader with a team of 9 people. • Engagement in global sourcing, ensuring fulfillment of needs in South America. • Active Contract Management: opportunities for cost reduction, productivity, engineering readjustment and alterations. • Supplier performance assessment in conjunction with manufacturing, engineering and quality; elaboration of backup plan for supplier substitution when necessary. • Coordination, with suppliers, of workshops presenting new technologies and trends within GM. • Elaboration of strategies to reduce exposure to FX (currency exchange) • Assessment of new transport modes and optimization.

Reported to the Global Electrics Procurement Director in the USA • Global Sourcing Leader for all Electrics and Interiors of the new GM vehicle range –GEM Platform for all countries involved in the project (Brazil, Mexico, China and India). • Coordination of a direct team with 4 Buyers in Mexico, Brazil, China and India and 4 Cost Analysts as well as 50 indirect personnel. • Responsible for developing suppliers and ensuring respect for local legislation, as well as cost premises and local content in each country. • Risk Assessment, logistic study for each package, mapping risks & deploying resources if needed. • Assess project synergies with other vehicles/components in production in each country, always seeking cost reduction and resource optimization. • Business Case (Sourcing Committee) presentation to the Procurement and Project Board, nominating suppliers.

• Buyer responsible, in South America, for all purchases of radios, displays and technological human-interaction devices; various electrical modules located in Manaus.

• Coordination of cost reduction proposals in the product value stream, including engineering, manufacturing and quality processes.
