I undertook a broad spectrum of mechanical engineering development, complementing software and electronic hardware activities, to establish a mechanical design capability which included the use of PTC Creo CAD software. I designed product from concept to detail, engineering custom parts & assemblies and sourcing & selecting commercial off the shelf items. I adopted Aras PLM software for all new product and defined the process for managing legacy data from multiple formats.

I was the senior engineering professional at Delstar, overseeing the design of bespoke equipment. Whilst leading a team of 10 design engineers, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD software, including recruiting and developing members of the team, I also nurtured relationships with external specialists to supplement internal capability and capacity. I planned the delivery of this engineering design resource to projects, as well as researched and implemented tools and techniques for continual development of the company's expertise. For selected projects I also executed design work - typically at the boundaries of in-house engineering science knowledge, for example: finite element analysis for design against fatigue, system inertia in a drive train with multiple prime-movers and wind loading on mobile equipment.
