Asset Integrity Management placement – Designed a bespoke reeling drum for the installation of thermocouples at Torness Power Station. Torness Nuclear Power Station placement – Responsible for managing and supervising emerging work scopes during Reactor 1 outage to ensure they were completed on time and within budget. Engineering placement (Gateshead) – Analysed a section of new HDPE pipework to replace steel pipework at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station

I was a member of the Children and Young Persons’ Advisory Group, which is involved in improving the services provided by CLIC Sargent. Being a member of the group has developed my team working and commination skills, from working with many different types of people. I was part of team who lead a workshop for the trustees at the charity, and received very positive feedback from all the trustees. I also have gained valuable organisation and presentation skills through presenting to the senior management team and the board of trustees.

I joined the Pipeline team as a Graduate Engineer in September 2014. I valuable gained experience working with industry standards and codes, including PD 5500, ASME VIII, DNV-OS-F101. This position allowed me to put my problem solving skills, acquired at university, into practice. I also was significantly involved in the Micro-Tyco charity business event, and helped raise over £2,000 for the Wild Hearts Foundation. Unfortunately due to the downturn of Oil & Gas industry, I was made redundant in March 2015. I was assured that this in no way reflects upon my performance at Wood Group Kenny.

In August 2012 I was appointed as a team coach as a result of my capability and enthusiasm at work. I had the responsibility of training new staff, through a structured 12-month training program. By motivating and energising the staff, this position has helped develop my leadership abilities.

I worked part-time as part of a team to provide the best possible customer service in a fast paced retail environment. This job has developed my great customer service, team working and communication skills.

I work as part of a small team to design and manufacture mechanical lifting and handling equipment. I contribute fresh ideas and have the responsibility of producing calculations to verify designs. I am also responsible for negotiating with suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. My manager is often out of the office, so I have to use my initiative to progress designs in order to meet tight deadlines. Producing engineering drawings and liaising with workshop staff has helped me to understand the importance to design for manufacturability.
