21-year experience in Facilities since graduating from Universiti Technologi Malaysia and enjoyed a fruitful career in various MNC companies including 13 years in managerial roles. I started my career as a Facilities Engineer in Fairchild Semiconductor Malaysia in year 2002. My role as a fresh graduate was on the ownership of the factory’s HVAC and Compressed Air systems. I then moved to Intel Technologies Malaysia as a Senior Facilities Engineer in year 2005. My main responsibility at Intel was on the ownership of the mechanical systems and clean rooms which includes problem solving, reliability improvement, maintenance and energy conservation. At Intel, I was also appointed lead of the Mechanical Module Team (MMT), which comprises of all mechanical engineers from Intel Penang and Kulim. I was then assigned as the Mechanical Design Lead for Malaysia’s manufacturing factories, laboratories and office building, responsible for all high-level designs, system capacity study, scope of works write-up and cost estimation for Malaysia base-built projects. After 5 years in Intel, I had the opportunity to return to Fairchild Semiconductor where I took up the role as the Facilities Engineering & Building Maintenance Manager, managing 5 Engineers and 2 Technicians. This role gave me the ownership of the entire facilities equipment, processes and buildings. This includes maintenance, reliability improvement, energy conservation and base-built / tool hook-up projects (both design and execution). When Fairchild Semiconductor Malaysia seized operations in year 2015, the building and land was acquired by BBraun Medical Malaysia. Following that, I had a short 8-month stint at BBraun Medicals Malaysia as a Senior Manager for Mechanical & Building Maintenance. In August 2016, I received the opportunity to assume the role of Senior Facilities Manager at Analog Devices Malaysia (formerly known as Linear Semiconductor). I was the Head of Department (HOD) of the Site Services department managing Facilities, EHS and Security. In my 7 years in Analog, I have successfully strengthened the department from a very lean structured to an efficient structured team. Besides improving equipment/process reliability and preventing production downtime, the department maintains a low operating cost through due diligence and transparency without compromising quality & safety. Together with my team, we have successfully supported the factory in achieving all goals and missions.
