OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT The overall objective of this assignment is to ensure the successful implementation of the citizen-led data generation and management initiative. The Programme Officer will be responsible for coordinating and guiding the successful implementation of the citizen-led data generation and management initiative, providing technical expertise and strategic guidance throughout the project. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate citizen-led data management. (i) Technical Expertise and Supervision • Provide technical expertise and overall oversight of the citizen data initiative. • Oversee and provide technical guidance during reconnaissance field visits to Sio-Siteko and Mara Wetlands. • Review and validate the firm's approach to stakeholder consultations and baseline data assessments. • Provide regular input and feedback to the consultancy firm. • Guidance on System Design, Development, and Deployment • Advise on appropriate citizen science technologies and data management systems. • Provide input during the design and testing of the data collection process, data processing, and data visualization on the platform. • Validate the functional requirements and oversee system deployment at pilot sites. • Identify and address technical and implementation challenges, propose solutions and recommendations to ensure project success. • Capacity Building Support • Support on-site coaching and technical support as required. • Documentation and Knowledge Transfer • Support for Scale-up Strategy to other basins. • Contribute technical insights to planning documents, proposals, or strategy briefs for future replication. • Support capacity-building efforts for local communities and National Discourse Forums (NDFs). • Support the strengthening of NDFs’ capacity • Support NBD in Resource Mobilization

1. Conduct environmental assessments and impact studies to identify potential risks and opportunities. 2. Evaluate the environmental impact of projects, operations, and initiatives. 3. Provide recommendations for minimizing environmental harm and enhancing sustainability. 4. Stay up to date with local, national, and international environmental regulations. 5. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws and standards. 6. Assist in the permitting process and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed. 7. Develop and implement sustainability strategies and action plans. 8. Monitor progress and report on sustainability goals and initiatives. 9. Collect and analyze environmental data to assess trends and impacts. 10. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations. 11. Use data-driven insights to drive decision-making and optimize environmental performance. 12. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups 13. Foster a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability within the organization.
