Effectively manages the accounting, financial reporting, compliance and audit functions for $400M+ in annual revenues. Oversees the month-end close process and the reconciliation of all applicable accounts, coordinates with all internal and external audit/accounting teams, oversight of the forecasting, budgeting, and capital process. Direct oversight of Casino Accounting/Audit, Financial Reporting, Drop and Count, and Regulatory Compliance.

Directly oversees the performance of 3 Audit Supervisors, 1 Financial Accounting Supervisor, 15 Auditors, 3 Staff/Senior Accountants, 1 Accounting Clerk, and 2 Payroll Specialists. Uncovered no significant or material audit findings during more than 40 audits yearly by internal auditors, Deloitte and Touché, and the Louisiana State Police. Team with Financial Controller and Director of Planning & Analysis to prepare on-target weekly forecasts covering $34M in revenues and all related expenses. Ensure accurate balance sheet and financial statement preparation. Manages relationships with Internal Audit, External Audit and the Louisiana State Police Audit function. Assists with the forecast and execution of the annual Capital outlay process.

Turned around a struggling finance department, driving operational improvements that established standardized audit and accounting policies/procedures to eliminate redundancy. Recruited, trained, and mentored 3 accounting/audit supervisors and 16 auditors. Developed a training program that firmly positioned the department’s ability to manage $400M+ in annual revenues. Set up an employee incentive program. Team with Financial Controller and Director of Planning & Analysis to prepare on-target weekly forecasts covering $34M in revenues and all related expenses. Ensure accurate balance sheet and financial statement preparation.

Prepared and conducted gaming and non-gaming auditing engagements throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Las Vegas. Instrumental in post-Katrina re-openings of Harrah’s New Orleans and the Grand Biloxi. Led division in identifying more than $1M in potential cost savings in cash management, labor efficiency, and fine avoidance. Internal Audit Star Award, Q2 2006 (for identification of $330,000 in cost savings opportunities). Star Performance Award—Team of the Quarter (for role in reopening Harrah’s New Orleans).
