Reach Out and Read is an evidence-based nonprofit organization that promotes early literacy and family support in pediatric exam rooms nationwide by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud. The Medical Director focuses on capacity building, training, advocacy and fundraising. I work with the Executive Director and Reach Out and Read MN's Board of Directors as well as Reach Out and Read national to cultivate and maintain public and private partnerships and work to enhance name recognition and expand our presence in Minnesota.

Review applications, interview applicants and participate in discussions and decisions on medical school applicants.

Appointed by Governor Mark Dayton. The Early Learning Council is charged with ensuring broad statewide coordination and collaboration among the wide range of early childhood programs and services in the state, including child care, Head Start, early intervention, and preschool. To advocate at the state-level for the needs of young children and families, inform early childhood priorities, drive policy and legislative change, and/or administer public spending on early childhood- relevant programs.

Admit and develop care plans for hospitalized pediatric patients. Supervise resident physician teams.

Responsible for the coordination and delivery of education to resident physicians and medical students. Prepare and present comprehensive case reviews. Assist in maintaining the Pediatric residency program's ACGME accreditation standards. Plan activities to boost/maintain resident morale. Represent resident interests on hospital wide-issues and committees.

Served as the Resident Representative and Social Media Chair

Provided over 200 hours of support for EPIC Inpatient and Stork - Helped physician and mid-level providers personalize their EPIC settings to maximize individual efficiency

Served as the primary link between the OSR Administrative Board and AAMC Committees, AAMC professional development groups, and external organizations. Was involved in the conceptualization and creation of the AAMC's Group on Diversity and Inclusion (GDI).
