My tenure as the Director of Photography was defined by my duties in editing photos for daily publication and weekly tabloid print; organizing, editing and publishing online stand-alone or accompanying photo galleries for stories; lead weekly meetings with assigning stories to the photo staff twice a week; strategizing social media visuals with audience engagement editors for publication accounts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook; daily communication with executive editors, section editors and coders to meet daily deadlines; arranging media credentials for political and athletic events; leading efforts in recruitment for students with related or unrelated areas of study; promoting photojournalism standards and ethics through communication with every section, our executive editors, and through individual critique and mentorship offered to staff recruits.

My position outlines editorial and leadership tasks including, but not limited to, selecting and editing a photo for a story to run online or for print, assisting the director of photography with editing photographs and captions for print, working under pressure, leading the photo staff, as well as communicating with sources for stories, section editors, and the editor-in-chief for logistics, planning, problem solving and making sure goals are being met.

The position as staff photographer requires me to take on last minute assignments that forces me to use my time management skills in order to work under pressure, so that delivering high-quality photos and creative, descriptive captions help carry out the goals not just for our photo staff, but for the entire publication as well.

Throughout my time working as an intern with the German international broadcast outlet, I pitched and published stories, done camerawork and post-editing for interviews, edited scripts for senior correspondents, as well as assist with research and production for correspondents' stories.

As Head Photographer for Bricklife Events, the student-run event promotion team in Athens, Ohio, my duties include taking pictures for gigs and events for the organization's social media and advertisements, as well as organizing, scheduling and leading our media crew for events.
