Semillero Investment Fund I is a growth-stage private equity fund targeting the food and agribusiness sectors in Puerto Rico. Semillero will focus on investing in established companies who are producing consistent, quality products.

- Serve as liaison between the Commonwealth and the United States Congress; White House; federal agencies; and other states and territories—facilitating communication with the Governor. - Monitor federal legislative issues and advocate on behalf of the Commonwealth. - Work with state policy advisors to determine how federal legislation will impact state programs and priorities - Develop public policy - Advise Governor with respect to legislative affairs, Congressional relations, and policy matters affecting state and local governments, as well as public and private interest groups.

- Areas of assignment: agriculture, biotechnology, bio-pharma, medical devices, entrepreneurship and job creation initiatives, distilled spirits sector, international affairs, special communities, diaspora engagement initiatives and legislative affairs - Plan, organize, monitor, manage, and evaluate economic development projects - Coordinate, direct, and implement programs and projects that support commercial and industrial development - Manage two (2) of the current Administration’s main developments; oversee over 45 projects of different sectors - Promote Puerto Rico’s incentives and investment opportunities - Appointed delegate of the Secretary in different board meetings - Advise on policy matters - Conduct legislative research, prepare analyses, and present strategies - Travel within and outside the U.S. on special assignments
