Worked on Duration Management Console which is a Swing based UI which connects to Availigent’s flagship product Duration. Duration’s near-instant end-to-end recovery time, virtualization and checkpoint/restore capabilities and user-friendliness make it the ideal way for complete protection of multi-tier applications. Job entailed enhancing the user interface to accommodate new business and product requirements. Involved in Internalization of the product. Used Ant to make build files.

Application framework for Cadence applications. Designed and developed an API for retrieving and storing user preferences to and from XML. Used the JAXP APIs to access and manipulate the data from XML. Built APIs to query the information retrieved from the XML files. Developed GUI application framework components such as Dialogs, which used the APIs described above to present the user date retrieved from the XML files. Developed demo application to highlight features of application framework. Developed demo using Java and the Swing libraries. Designed and developed web interface to Cadence applications using Java Servlets. Involved transitioning existing standalone monolithic application to client/server setup. Clients were Java applets, the backend server used Java Servlets.

Worked on Opensymphony workflow technology which is a shareware built on Java based Swing. The job entailed developing and testing new features provided by the workflow tool to customize based on requirements of Insignia. Insignia provides infrastructure where the firmware version of the mobile devices can be updated through the client. This workflow tool interfaces with Insignia server. It can be run on the desktop. Extensive client server testing was done to achieve this goal. SQL queries were used to retrieve values for certain jobs. Developed detailed test plans and use cases. This involved boundary value analysis, black box testing and white box testing. Implemented Java based test suites using Junit. Written automation perl scripts for the deployment of the tool. Used Ant to make build files. Also carried out manual regression and integration testing for GUI applications.
