Leading quantitative research on sleep and health in inpatients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders, in partnership with the University of British Columbia BRAIN LAB and the Red Fish Center for Healing (BCMHSUS). This includes designing survey and experimental studies; statistical data analysis and dissemination of findings in scientific journals, book chapters, conference presentations and stakeholder reports; peer-review, and supervision of undergraduate and graduate student research projects. Advocacy regarding public health concerns of permanent daylight saving time, including interviews on national news outlets.

• Designed and implemented survey and experimental studies to assess the benefits of novel circadian lighting technology (changing in intensity and colour temperature over the 24-hour day) on sleep, performance, and health in hospital patients and older adults living in long-term care facilities; directly influencing a new hospital design. Conducted statistical analyses and disseminated research findings in scientific journals, international conferences. • Awarded two technology-based innovation grants (totalling $200,000). Grant coordination and writing to support a Canadian Institute of Health Research grant application for a phase 3 randomized clinical trial investigating the safety, feasibility and efficacy of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of tobacco use disorder.

The North American Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (NAO) supports and promotes evidence-informed health system policy decision-making. • Co-led a Rapid Review prepared for the Public Health Agency of Canada to support the development of public health system performance framework and indicators in Canada, in collaboration with the newly created FPT Public Health Data Steering Committee (PHSDC). This involved engaging public health experts and stakeholders across Canada to refine the framework and identify feasible indicators • Grant coordination and writing

• Conducted cross-provincial mixed methods research in health systems, including data analysis and manuscript writing in collaboration with researchers from the University of Ottawa, Dalhousie, Simon Fraser University, and Ontario Tech. • Led a study on variation in psychiatrist billing for substance use disorder (SUD) in British Columbia using health administrative data. • Trainee and staff development- helping build a sense of community within the lab through activities such as staff and trainee orientation, creating a student handbook and resource hub, and facilitating working groups. • Grant coordination and writing, with over $1.2 million in CIHR project grant funding awarded • Project coordination, including developing and maintaining data dictionaries for linked cross-jurisdictional data and preparation of data access requests
