Mykola Stetsenko

As current President of the Ukrainian Bar Association, I focus on the rule of law, legal ethics, and spearheading legislative reforms.I am the Managing Partner at AVELLUM where I lead our Corporate/M&A Practice and co-lead our Real Estate and Infrastructure practice. For nearly 30 years of my legal career I focused on complex multi-jurisdictional transactions, some of which have set new market precedents and are repeatedly recognised by legal directories, including Chambers, IFLR, and The Legal 500. I have extensive experience in all types of corporate and M&A transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, IPOs, securities, corporate restructurings, and corporate governance. I also advise major international corporations on their market entry and employment matters in Ukraine. As Co-Head of Real Estate and Infrastructure I focus on land acquisitions, construction, natural resources, minerals exploration, production sharing agreements, and public-private partnerships. I am one of the lead authors of the modern corporate law in Ukraine, having co-drafted laws on shareholder agreements, securities regulation, corporations and LLCs, corporate governance, as well as squeeze-out and sell-out mechanisms. I also serve as an expert on securities, corporate law, and civil law in major investment arbitrations.
