* With the Assessment Team Leader, setting the specific plans for short-term enumerators, formulate quantitative and qualitative survey design and supervise enumerators in order to conduct effective collection of quantitative field data * Contributing to the assessment methodology and research design. * Organizing and attending meetings/interviews with key stakeholders; Provide translation as required for Assessment Team Leader * Desk review of relevant secondary data (especially Burmese Language Documents) and gather relevant government statistics for inclusion in the assessment data analysis * With the Assessment Team Leader, supervising fieldwork in Myanmar per agreed- upon research design, including interviews with relevant actors as well primary data collection using quantitative and qualitative methodologies * Performing primary and secondary data analysis as instructed by the Assessment Team Leader

* Identifying key over-arching issues (listed below under Issues) and institutions. * Considering the list of problem statements / research questions already identified by the project in the initial proposal document. * Identifying concerns relevant to the sector and the geographical area that link the over-arching issues to the problem statements and then assessing stakeholders. * Conducting research to generate findings that help understand these concerns. * Considering how the concerns relate to the problem statements and recommendations. * Conducting high-level interviews with key stakeholders and informants at the national and state / regional levels. * Conducting interviews with key informants on specific identified case studies within the sector.

* Taking actions for project implementation, building capacities of the project partners, timely reporting and management of overall project. * Coordination with other assigned project staff and volunteers for the project and also among organizations and project partners. * Supporting technical advice to the program and project partners through trainings, information sharing, regional exposure. * Conducting advocacy and policy work at national and regional levels * Monitoring and evaluation the project activities on a regular basis for effective project implementation. * Conducting progress research activities related to the program and projects. * Ensuring the safety and security of staff with the risk management. * Compiling and submitting of program progress reports to donors and monthly reports to assigned supervisor.

* Collecting and preparing data and (background) information in the areas of FAO’s activities. * Analyzing and summarizing data from various sources, including FAO corporate systems. * Participating in project monitoring by maintaining current registers and controlling tools on the status of projects at various stages. * Preparing background material, working papers and tables for briefings, review sessions and meeting. * Preparing correspondence to verify data, answer queries, and obtaining additional information on transactions and operational matters, as required. * Managing and monitoring the projects/programme’s pipeline. * Facilitating operational clearance of development projects/programmes and monitoring their implementation. * Disseminating information within FAO on the policies and priorities of the resource partner (s) and prepare regular updated profiles and briefs on these resource partners. * Maintaining a filing system of technical and project documents and correspondence.

* Translating the data and written documents (orally and in writing) * Interpreting for survey questionnaire, meetings and discussions. * Reviewing accuracy and relevance of translation.

* Assisting in the coordination and running of training courses on natural resource management and postharvest management. * Responsible for running of trials, maintenance and data gathering of field validation of natural resource management activities in three townships of the Ayeyarwaddy delta lower regions (Labutta,Bogale and Mawlamyinegyun). * Assisting in conducting post harvest trials and in data gathering and processing in Bogale and Labutta. * Effective collaboration with NGO partners, and local government staff.

* Assisting Project Manager in planning, needs assessment, implementation, management in all aspects of project. * Collaboration with the local team and regularly monitoring the activities to capture lessons and generating recommendations to improve the intervention. * Submission of reports (weekly, monthly) to Country Director, Project Manager and local authorities. * Attending coordination meetings. * Livelihood Working Group Meeting, General Coordination Meeting) * Coordination with other related communities and organizations.
