As part of the fintech team at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, I am part of the team that has been an instrumental force in facilitating the development of the local fintech ecosystem at a national level. Working closely with stakeholders including regulators, start-ups, venture capital groups, banks, accelerators as well as local and international government agencies, I build my repertoire in the payment, mobile application and fintech scene at both strategic and execution levels. Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MDEC) is the holistic, government-owned agency launched in 1996 to pioneer the transformation of Malaysia’s digital economy. Its roots stemmed from Vision 2020, the plan to develop Malaysia into a fully-developed nation by 2020. Key Roles :- 1. Identify and engage with key ecosystem players including, but not limited to, regulators, industry players, government and relevant agencies, venture builders, startups and scale-ups to help build and enrich the Fintech and Islamic Digital ecosystems. 2. Understand and address the gap in capability development to help accelerate the growth of the industry 3. Evangelize the technologies that could catapult the Fintech and Islamic Digital Economy industry and position Malaysia in a leadership position for Fintech and Islamic Digital economy; within the means and relevance of Malaysia. 4. Strategize and execute multi-stakeholders initiatives that could create scalable national impact and increase adoption in Fintech and Islamic Digital.
