KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES o To follow purchasing procedures that are in place, after due authorization by management, and with the obtaining of competitive quotes where required by policy. o Maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethics and effective communication. o Purchasing Report pertaining to price changes to be produced and then approved by the Financial Controller. This report must be circulated to the respective Department Head, so they are aware of the financial implication of their Departmental P&L. o Ensure that the right goods and services are procured/ obtained at the right prices at the right time. o Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices for all goods and services. o Provide periodic accurate feed back to Department Heads on the status of their purchase requisitions through email and also in the periodic purchase review meetings presided by the Financial Controller and attended by all Department Heads. o Obtain three competitive quotes from suppliers, wherever possible, to ensure that the best prices are obtained for the quality specifications and quantity requirement. o Develop good relationships with officers of Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Airport Cargo and Maldives Port Authority. o Explore the market for new commodities or products which may be of use for hotel operations. Develop new suppliers by researching through the internet. o Build up good relationships with suppliers to ensure that they attend to our requests promptly. Be aware of the changing prices of commodities and goods and take advantage of price bargains. o Conduct food supplier premise checks with the Chef before registering the supplier as a vendor to ensure supplier compliance with HACCP standards o Conduct a surprise Audit time to time in receiving and storage areas to ensure that HACCP standards are being maintained by staff

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES •Supervise, train and motivate Purchasing department staff •Ensure that the department works closely with the chef and the Food & Beverage Director to purchase the highest quality products at the lowest prices •Ensure that all purchase order requests are properly completed and approved •Negotiate food prices, place required daily food orders and ensure prompt delivery •Generate purchase orders on approval requisitions and obtain necessary authorization •Obtain competitive price quotations and confirm purchase availabilities
